Dr. Helena Gavilán Rubio

Including the completion of my PhD in 2017 and 4 years of postdoctoral experience, I have been dedicated to full-time research since 2012. I have worked in five different institutions: University of Heidelberg in Germany (Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems), where I conducted my Bachelor Thesis; Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in Spain, where I conducted my Master Thesis; the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) in Spain, where I conducted my PhD; The Italian Institute of Technology in Genova (Italy), where I worked as a postdoctoral researcher and for the start-up project HyperCube and at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), where Icurrently I work as a postdoc fellow in the Dept. of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering. My current research interests focus on the development of polymer nanocomposites as opto-magnetic multifunctional platforms. During these years, I have built up a strong track record that comprises 25 publications and over 20 conference presentations. My work has been published in high impact factor journals such as Chemical Society Reviews (IF = 54.564, 2020), Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (IF = 13.300, 2019), ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (IF = 8.491, 2019) and Acta Biomaterialia (IF = 6.383, 2017). I have 1 book chapter and I am co-inventor of 2 patents, have extensive experience in intellectual property and technology transfer and I am a co-founder of 1 spin-off from IIT.
